Perseverance Pays.

Its just over 5 years since Keltech’s newest NPI Engineer 27 year old Arianna Zaccaria and her family emigrated to Ireland. In that time Arianna has; learned a new language from scratch, trained and became an accomplished CNC pressbrake operator and most recently was promoted onto the Keltech NPI engineering team.

Born in Maracaibo, Venezuela Arianna starts “ Venezuela’s economy was really bad and there wasn’t many opportunities or options for young people. I came to Ireland with zero English. I could barely say hello how are you? This was a struggle at the start, but straight away I found the Irish people to be patient and friendly, this really helped”

Settled in Waterford Arianna became aware of Keltech through her father Luciano. “Dad started in Keltech first, he was really positive about the company, the work was interesting and they supplied huge brands like Caterpillar and Volvo he said. When I heard they were recruiting I applied immediately.”

Arianna studied graphic design in Rafael Urdaneta University, Maracaibo, Venezuela. “ I think I have always been the inventive type and enjoyed the aspect of making something. When I went to Keltech’s recruitment day I was intrigued by the creativity of the folding area, the transformation of flat sheet metal into various formed shapes was fascinating. I was delighted when that was where the company placed me”.

A quick learner Arianna was identified as a high performer early on recalls Keltech folding veteran Ireneusz Przybyla. “She has a real eye for detail, her ability to comprehensively interpret drawing information and then accurately set up machine programmes was impressive”. Arianna was becoming adept at the art of bending metal but her spoken and written English too had also improved dramatically. “After a year or so in Keltech I found my voice, I was confident in my technical ability but also my ability to communicate with my peers and management.”

In recent years the Keltech brand has become synonymous in industry as the supplier of choice for Tanks, Enclosures, Over Head Guards and High Volume Fabrication projects. A constant flow of new projects ensures the company remains stable even when markets are volatile. Keltech’s ability to execute new product introductions on a consistent basis is part of our key success criteria.

When an additional position in the NPI team arose 12 months ago Arianna was a standout candidate. The move from the production floor to the office was a big one Arianna says but she couldn’t be happier with the switch “ I love the variety of projects I work on and that its not the same thing every day. I am always learning something new which I really enjoy. I love working with the engineering team , they are so friendly and were really welcoming to me.

Keltech gave me the opportunity to grow in a new area and improve myself, in the office I am learning how important it is to carry out a project using a defined process and how important it is to cover every detail before production release.

The last five years have been an amazing journey, of course I miss Venezuela but I couldn’t be happier with my work life balance in wonderful Waterford.”

Keltech’s core most valuable asset is our people, investment in our people is investment in our company’s future.
